“Mr. & Mrs. Mahi” is a 2024 Hindi-language romantic sports drama film directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions. The film stars Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor. It was announced in November 2021, and filming took place from May 2022 to May 2023. The film is an unconventional sports drama and was released on 31st May 2024, receiving mixed reviews from critics.”

The story revolves around an arranged marriage between Mahendra, a failed cricketer, and Mahima, a doctor. Both share the same nickname, Mahi, and are commonly referred to as Mr. and Mrs. Mahi, reminiscent of the nickname of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. They soon discover their mutual love and passion for cricket.

As the story progresses, Mr. Mahi notices his wife’s cricketing talent when he witnesses her hitting powerful sixes with a tennis ball. Encouraged by her husband, Mrs. Mahi decides to pursue her dream of becoming a cricketer and gives up her career as a doctor to embark on her cricketing journey. The tagline of the film is ‘AN IMPERFECTLY PERFECT PARTNERSHIP’.

This married couple shares a common love for cricket. The trailer shows how Rajkummar’s character wants his wife Mahima (played by Janhvi) to take up cricket to fulfill his dreams. This is Rajkummar and Janhvi’s second film together after ‘Roohi’.

Produced by Karan Johar and directed by Sharam Sharma, who previously directed Janhvi in ‘Gunjan Saxena’, the trailer has received positive reviews. If the film lives up to expectations, it could attract audiences to theaters through positive word of mouth.
