Srikanth
Fun Facts of Movie
Rajkumar Rao as Shrikant has arrived in theaters with a unique and touching family film Srikanth. Despite being poor, his character is emotionally compelling, and it seems like a Bollywood film. The movie’s hero is a chess champion, a genius in intellect, faster than a calculator in math, and has even worn the national team jersey in cricket. After hearing all this, you might be impressed, but you’ll be shocked to learn that his superpower is that he is blind.
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, a person who was once admired by the whole world, was himself the biggest fan and even a business partner of the hero. Unlike most of us who run home after being scolded by teachers, this person fought against the entire education system because he was forced to take up arts instead of science. Do you know what he said in front of the judge in court? “Please help the blind, sir, because your law is also blind.
Srikanth : story
The story began in a pit below the ground. His own family wanted to kill him when he was born because no one wanted a blind child Srikanth. However, the person who was expected to beg with a bowl in hand in India managed to secure a scholarship to study at one of the most expensive colleges in America, where the tuition fees are 65 lakh rupees, completely free of charge.
This is the story of Srikanth. When a lawyer asked him, “Why do you want to study science?” Srikanth responded with a thought-provoking answer. He said, “Imagine if Newton didn’t see the apple falling because he was blind. Then how would the whole world know about gravity? Millions of people must have seen the apple falling before Newton, but Newton thought about it. And to think, you need a brain, not an eye.”
Blind Srikanth :
It was so easy to sell a story Srikanth of a blind man by making it motivational and emotional. If 2-3 sad songs were added to it, then maybe we would have won the national award. But Shrikant’s X Factor is not a tragedy. Unlike other movies, it is just a normal film. The blind is not blind; creativity is required to make the ordinary remarkable. The most amazing thing is that Srikanth has focused on presenting Shrikant as a normal person. He is not always a hero; he also has a villain in him.
Srikanth is great because it can be enjoyed by all types of audiences. It’s not overly technical and is made in a simple and entertaining way. For example, if a biopic is made about a scientist, it might include a lot of complex scientific information that many people won’t understand. However, Shrikant has avoided this mistake and made educational content interesting by connecting it with real-life situations, adding a touch of comedy.
Srikanth also explores the business angle, delving into themes of good and bad greed. It effectively portrays the emotions that lead us to judge others, which is both a strength and a weakness because at times it can feel too ordinary.
Blind Srikanth struggles :
In the life of a visually impaired person, it would be unfair to create a film that exaggerates all the challenges they face. However, it is crucial for the audience to experience a small fraction of those challenges in order to relate to Shrikant’s real story. Otherwise, it would be easy to overlook the struggles faced by visually impaired individuals, much like in Raju’s life.
Rajkumar Rao’s performance in Srikanth skillfully portrays the reality and naturalness of Shrikant’s story, making it feel like you are witnessing a real-life interview. Throughout Srikanth, it seemed like I was watching the first Indian film with a visually impaired protagonist, as there was not a single flaw in any scene.
The unexpected shift in his character occurs when he begins to see himself as a god, much like Gaitonde Bhau from Sacred Games. This part is particularly impressive, as it is unexpected to see a blind person express anger in such a way.
